Battal makes personalised books for children. To do that we have to look at a photograph of your child, once. This notice says exactly what we collect, what happens to the photograph, and what we keep.
The photograph — the part that matters
Every photograph is stripped of its hidden metadata the moment it arrives, including the GPS location your phone records. We do not delete the metadata; we redraw the pixels onto a fresh canvas, which is something metadata cannot survive.
We send it once to the partner who draws the character with AI (fal.ai). That is the only purpose it is ever sent for.
As soon as the character is drawn, the photograph is deleted from our servers. Not at the end of the order, not after thirty days — then. There is a test in our codebase that fails if it is not.
We do not keep it, we do not show it to anyone, and we do not use it to train anything.
What else we collect
Your name, and your email or mobile number, so we can send you the order and reach you.
Your child's first name in Arabic and in English, and whether the hero is a boy or a girl — these are printed in the book and change how the story is written.
A delivery address and the recipient's mobile number, for printed books only. A digital book has nowhere to be delivered, so we do not ask.

Payment
Card details never reach us. They are entered on Paymob's own payment page; we are told only that the payment succeeded.
If you pay by InstaPay or Fawry we keep the reference you send us, so a human can match it to your transfer.
No accounts, no tracking
There are no accounts and no passwords. Your order link is the only key to it — which is precisely how we avoid keeping a password store next to photographs of children.
There is no analytics or advertising code on this site. No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no advertising cookies.
Your browser keeps your own order links locally so you can return to them. That never reaches us.
How long we keep things
Photographs: deleted immediately after the character is drawn.
The book file: for as long as your order exists, so you can download it again.
The order and payment record: kept, as an accounting record.
Intermediate manufacturing files: deleted thirty days after the order finishes.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will.
We process a child's photograph on your instruction as their parent or guardian. That consent is recorded, with its timestamp, when the order is placed.
We operate under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law, No. 151 of 2018.
